The ayuvedic treatments

Lisa and I have been here at the health village, Kerala Ayurveda Ltd., India for about a week now. Our initial consultation with the medical staff determines which specific procedures/treatments are best suited to assist in alleviating the conditions presented. In my case, cardiovascular issues are the most prevalent and with Lisa the main focus is on osteoarthritis.
Our course of treatment involves a daily regiment of hot essential oil massage, administered by two professionals, specific ayurvedic herbal mixtures targeting our necessary needs with attentive nursing who administer, monitor and evaluate our progress morning, noon and night.  As part of the overall treatment a detoxification is undertaken, and a succulent Kerala vegetarian diet is beautifully presented three times daily

This is a bandi sack filled with specific herbs for our needs. It is then heated and patted all over the body rapidly.
A prayer is said before the treatment. The fragrance of the oils, the two massage therapists working in tandem and the soft sounds of the sitar and flutes adds to the experience.
